ICSI - Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection

Many sperm abnormalities may be overcome in the IVF laboratory with ICSI (Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection), which is included at no charge with the standard pre-paid IVF cycle package at the Follas Center. With this procedure, the embryologist selects a normal-appearing sperm, loads it into a glass micropipette, and injects it into the egg. If ICSI is planned, genetic counseling is advised to individually assess any possible increased risks of transferring any abnormalities to the male offspring after a successful IVF cycle.
